When you shut off your Spyder, the system automatically disables the fuel circuit. Without an authorized Phantom Shield fob nearby, the bike cannot be started—even if someone has access to the factory key.

There are no buttons to press, codes to enter, or separate steps to remember. Simply carry one of the two included ultra-thin proximity fobs in your pocket, wallet, bag, or riding gear. When you approach your Spyder, the system recognizes the authorized fob and allows you to start the bike using the factory key as usual.

Once you shut off the bike and walk away with the fob, the fuel circuit is automatically disabled again. The protection works discreetly in the background while maintaining a simple, familiar starting routine.

Normal Operation: Fault Code When Starting While Armed

If the engine is started without the key fob present, the immobilizer will disable the fuel pump and the vehicle will not start. Because fuel delivery is interrupted, the vehicle's computer may display a fuel system fault code. This is normal and expected: it simply indicates the engine is not receiving fuel while the system is armed. It does not indicate a fault with your vehicle or the immobilizer, and the code will clear on its own.
